What does this mean?
We need to show that our intervention is cost-effective compared to usual care.
How do we show this?
Gain consent to access ABS and Queensland health data that we can compare. This is part of the consent form and will be obtained for all participants with intellectual disability.
We can then see if the cost of the intervention ends up being cheaper than usual care.
We do this by using an economic analysis, and accounting for any decrease in hospital/outpatient services and if it offsets by catching it early (as hoped for) compared to catching it late (usual care).
